ABRAXAS

Appetizer: Pomodorini, acciughe e basilico

ENGLISH VERSION
The slogan says: “The tavern between the two lakes”. In fact, the position between the Averno Lake and the Fusaro Lake plays a key role, with the spectacular view from the upper terrace to give the best of itself during the summer season.
Wine bar and tavern, Abraxas combines a well-stocked cellar with the cuisine, heavily oriented to quality and seasonal ingredients. For traceability and transparency, leading vendors are listed on the final page of the menu.
Just a few weeks ago here was inaugurated the new wood stove and cooking area with outdoor grill; a new arrival particularly pleasing to the public, to the point that the free-range chicken with potatoes baked in a wood has already become a must!
(Author’s note: Unfortunately, we did not get to taste it, because it takes quite long time, so the wise owner Nando Salemme prefer not to prepare it too early to prevent it from drying out).
The proposals in the menu include land and sea, with the possibility of choosing a set of seven assorted starters. We have them skipped, but while we were waiting for the first courses, we received some appetizers, all made with local products and even from the home garden.
Some dishes of the day complete the offer.
A special mention to the mussels of Cape Misenum, that are tasty both as appetizer with mint and as the classic soup with cherry tomatoes and croutons.
The lake breeze, a glass of wine, a good company ... and it’s done.
